Khatam is one of the Persian art crafts which is produced mostly in Shiraz and Isfahan.

How artists create Khatam (Inlaying)

khatam consists of many tiny mosaics that are precisely inlaid side by side. The geometric shapes made in this way include different triangles and polygons. Different materials are used in this art such as wood, bone, ivory, brass, copper, silver, aluminum wires and glue. The smaller and more in order the shapes, the more quality has the art craft.
